Overview

Recruiting a PSYCHOLOGIST (Clinical or Counselling), Specialising with Teens and Adolescents. On behalf of my client who are a specialist Mental Health & Wellness clinic, long established in Dubai with a good reputation and large client network, with new modern and consultation rooms for 5 staff. Would suit candidates looking to work in a relaxed environment with total autonomy and in close partnership with the MD / Owner.

Role: Psychologist (specialising with Adolescents and Teens).

Location: Dubai, UAE.

Hours: Full Time / 40 hrs / 5 days as a week. No Weekends. Flexible timings to suit.

Salary & Benefits: Fixed basic salary up to AED 37,000 (subject to experience) + 10% to 30% revenue share. On Target Earnings = AED 50,000 with a full caseload 120 clinical hours. Standard UAE benefits, 24 days paid holiday, professional licence costs, private Medical insurance + yearly Airtickets + yearly CPD allowance.

Summary: Assess, diagnose and treat teens and adolescents suffering from psychological distress and mental illness from all manner of situations. Perform psychotherapy and develop treatment plans. Provide psychological treatment (psychotherapy). Administer and interpret psychological assessment and testing. Conduct psychological research. Teaching. Developing prevention programs. Consulting (within schools and businesses). Program administration within a busy clinic.

Qualifications & Experience:

-MUST already be resident in the UAE.
-MUST already hold DHA eligibility or already be licensed as a Clinical Psychologist (or CDA licensed Counselling Psychologist).
-MUST hold Masters / Ph.D.
-MUST have at least 3 yrs specialist experience in Teens & Adolescents therapy.
-MUST have excellent English language skills (knowledge of Arabic would be an advantage).

Primary Responsibility:

-Assessing and diagnosing abilities or behaviour by conducting a clinical assessment, interviews, liaison with families or carers and applying psychometric tests
-Applying and interpreting standardized assessment scales or measures, and preparing comprehensive psychological and psycho-educational assessment reports.
-Attendance at regular meetings such as team/service clinical and business meetings.
-Providing appropriate therapy based on the individual and couples needs.
-Leading group therapy of different age groups and levels of functioning.
-Working as part of a multidisciplinary team alongside, Psychiatrists, family therapist, -Social Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Nurse, Developmental Pediatricians, and Teachers.
-Working with outside organisations to provide recommendations and advice regarding individual needs based on the outcome of the assessments.
-Providing consultation to other professions
-Supervising support staff assisting in psychological assessment and intervention.
-Participate in research activities.
-Attending educational events such as conferences, and training seminars as required.
-Non-clinical support activity such as running a reflective practice group for other staff, supervising other members of the team if required.
-Additional responsibilities – activities and roles related to professional supervision and line management, service delivery, governance and service development, Clinical Audit where this is formally agreed with managers.
-Carrying out responsibilities with the highest professional ethical standards and sensitivity to cultural differences.
